Antennas

Antennas

I have a Hygain 12AVQ tri-band vertical for my ham radio endeavors, giving me access to 10 – 15 – 20 meters. I purchased it at DX Engineering along with some pre-cut radial wires tuned for the three bands, 4 for each band.

But I am looking to homebrew some others antennas to catch some of the other bands. I’m especially interested in 12, 17, 30 and 40 meters.

The radio, a Kenwood TS930s, and now and Icom IC-9100 has many more bands available. Been looking at the MagLoops since I have a small city lot and can’t really get anything big or long. Also been looking at some stealth wire antennas as well. So let me know if you’re a homebrew antenna maker….I may need some help.

I got an MFJ auto-tuner now and my tri-band vertical will actually radiate on 40. . .even made a few contacts on SSB. Now that the IC-9100 will also do 6m, 2m and 70cm, I’m looking at the Comet GP-15 and feeding it through a triplexer, the Comet CFX-514N, since the Icom has a seperate antenna jack for each band.
